Why BTB 1660
BTB1660:
The significance of the name is derived from the British army moto “ Be The Best “ and in honour of the date the British army was formed after the restoration of the monarchy and the commonwealth, which had been previously dissolved by Oliver Cromwell in 1653.
In 1660, the monarchy was restored when Parliament invited King Charles II to take the throne. Although the military played a crucial role in his return, the King soon established a new force - the British Army
Replacing the strap
Although the Cesium BTB 1660 comes equipped with a 20mm nylon NATO strap , you may desire to change this to a metal strap. The NATO strap can be easily removed by un-threading the strap, similar to a belt. At this point you can hold the watch in one hand and the buckle in the other and pull apart. Depending on your skill set , removing the spring pins between the lugs may need to be completed by a horological expert.
It’s recommended to select a style in keeping with the theme , such as a titanium , black or frosted steel. Bear in mind when making your choice the watch alone is 70 grams and some timepiece enthusiasts like to keep the total weight including the strap to bellow 85 grams to avoid discomfort o prolonged wearing periods.
Time setting. ( Hacking )
This MIYOTA 2115 movement is a hackable movement. This means once the crown is unscrewed and pulled to negotiate the setting wheel ( position F) the second hand will stop. For perfect accuracy wait till the second hand is at the 12 marker exactly. Then once the time is set to 1 minute more than the time it is currently, wait with a digital or online device to hit the exact time and press the crown in at that moment. If done correctly the watch will be perfectly accurate to within 1 second.
